Classically beautiful and effortlessly feminine, the pictured watch, crafted from 18-karat yellow gold, is the latest gem-set addition to Rolex’s already impressive Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust line-up. Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932 and, to celebrate last year’s games, the watchmaker has debuted the Seamaster Aqua Terra Tokyo 2020 Gold Editions, which are housed in one of two yellow-gold cases that measure 38mm or 41mm. Polished blue ceramic dials pop with a laser-engraving inspired by the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Games emblem, and sapphire case backs are etched with the words “Tokyo 2020”, as well as the Olympic rings in blue, yellow, black green, and red.

Hermès has introduced three playful versions of its equestrian-inspired Arceau watch, with a starting price tag of US$73,000. Powered by the brand’s H1837 automatic movement, two 41mm white-gold automatic models come with aventurine dials, which are limited to 12 pieces each, while a 38mm white-gold moon phase—a module that allows the wearer to track the movements of the sun and moon—comes with a pink opaline dial and diamond-set bezel, and is limited to 24 pieces. All three additions to the range have the Hermès silk scarf Space Derby design, conceptualised by illustrator and film director Ugo Bienvenu, painted onto their dials, which is built up in layers before being kiln-dried.

Three editions have been rendered in a unique combination of coloured ceramic. The Pastel Blue model, which combines light blue with turquoise accents, is particularly cool but these watches will sure set you back a pretty penny, with a retail price of US$163,000.

Breguet has added new variations of its celebrated Marine collection. Inspired by vintage timepieces that were used for marine navigation, collectors can now choose between a rose-gold model with a slate-grey dial and a titanium model with a blue dial. Individually numbered and signed, the pictured 18-karat rose-gold Ref 5517 watch is made using 179 components. A fluted case band and faceted, moon-tipped hands coated with luminescent material showcase Breguet’s attention to detail, as does the watch’s open case back, which allows the wearer to admire its inner workings.

Chanel has unveiled a 55-piece version of its Monsieur watch, which made headlines in 2016 for being the brand’s first dedicated men’s watch and the first timepiece to be powered by the house’s first in-house movement: the manually wound Calibre 1. A jumping hour watch, which means it indicates the hour by numerals on an instantaneously jumping disk rather than a traditional hand, this new timepiece comes with a white-veined black marble dial, which is housed in a matte black ceramic case. Get yours with an alligator-pattern calfskin strap for US$38,280.

2021 marked Gucci’s 100th anniversary and, to celebrate, the Italian fashion house is stepping up its watchmaking game with numerous haute-horology models, including the G-Timeless Dancing Bees Tourbillon watches, which were designed by creative director Alessandro Michele and boast the company’s first in-house movement: the 25H.

8. Speed Racer

Motor racing combines performance engineering, cutting-edge technology and innovative materials with pure adrenaline. This dynamic world has now inspired a unique timepiece from IWC, of which only 15 pieces will be made: The Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “IWC Racing“ is the first Big Pilot’s Watch made of Ceratanium®. Developed by IWC, this ground-breaking material is based on a proprietary titanium alloy and fired in a kiln. It is as light and robust as titanium but at the sa

The most emblematic IWC Schaffhausen collection is, without doubt, its Pilot’s Watch. The brand’s latest edition, the Big Pilot’s Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition IWC Racing, abandons the line’s aviation roots and, instead, takes inspiration from the world of motorsports. Stunningly sleek, its all-black Ceratanium case is exceedingly sporty and modern. Meanwhile, the asymmetrical, off-centre dial is elevated with pops of yellow, as is the rubber strap with Alcantara inlay.

9. Seeing Things

Housed in a rose-gold 41mm case, the Grande Seconde Skelet-One Tourbillon is visually similar to Jaquet Droz’s Grande Seconde Skelet-One. This latest ticker, however, comes with a tourbillon, which is a mechanical complication that was invented during the era of the pocket watch to improve a timepiece’s accuracy. Two open-worked sub-dials contrast against the skeletonised movement’s matt black bridges, making this watch exceptionally elegant. Although no number has been announced, it’s likely this watch will be a limited edition so, if you want to add one to your collection, you’ll have to act fast.

10. That's Cool

The Pioneer Mega Cool and the Pioneer Tourbillon Mega Cool models by H Moser & Cie continue the brand’s minimalist design ethos. Their turquoise fumé dial colour, which the watchmaker has coined Blue Lagoon, will take you back to summer days spent on fine powdery sand by brilliant turquoise bays.

11. Going Home

François-Paul Journe quickly rose to fame in the competitive watch industry and, for the first time, the legendary watchmaker has signed off on the sale of each and every one of the 99 pieces of his latest creation, which has been launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2001 Octa Automatic watch. Journe’s decision was fuelled by his desire for the Octa Automatique 20th Anniversaries to go to appreciative collectors, rather than those looking to flip watches for a quick profit. The series comes with satin-finish 18-karat yellow-gold dials, which are housed in 40mm platinum cases.

LITTLE LANGE 1 MOON PHASE, reference 182.886As beautiful as a starry nightThousands of tiny stars seem to sparkle on the dark-blue dial of the LITTLE LANGE 1 MOON PHASE in its white-gold case. It is coated with dark-blue gold flux that shimmers with a copper hue. A white-gold moon accurately orbits along its course beneath the iconic Lange outsize date. In a second version, a bezel set with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds creates a radiant frame for the fascinating dial.

One of the oldest complications in horology, the moon phase, which allows the wearer to track the movements of the sun and moon, takes pride of place in A Lange & Söhne’s Little Lange 1. In 2002, the German watchmaker introduced the original Lange 1 Moonphase, which is accurate to one day in 122 years. Fast-forward to today, and the brand has launched its latest model with a deep blue dial that’s elevated by a sparkly gold-flux dial, surrounded with diamonds for US$56,600 or without for US$44,900.
