Plus, three other new releases that should go on your wishlist now
A few design updates and a new movement distinguish the new Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Apollo 8 from its predecessor in 2018. On the dial, the recreation of the moon surface has been enhanced with laser engraving and contrasting surfaces. The caseback also reveals the laser-ablated Moon relief on the main plate and bridges.
The seconds counter at ‘9’ features a hand in the shape of Nasa’s Saturn V rocket in grade 5 titanium. The ceramic bezel is adorned with a tachymeter scale with bright white grand feu enamel. The caseback is also inscribed with “We'll see you on the other side”, the last words spoken to ground control by command module pilot Jim Lovell before the Apollo 8 mission disappeared to the far side of the Moon and out of radio contact.
The Calibre 3869 meets the Co-Axial Master Chronometer standard, meaning it is resistant against magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss
