We turn to the fiery Aries in the latest instalment of our style by star sign series, in which we look at how to enhance your personal style according to common traits associated with your zodiac sign

The first astrological sign in the zodiac, Aries (March 21-April 20), shares its name with the Greek god of war and is represented by the ram. Its ruling planet is Mars, which is also named after the Roman god of war, and it’s also a fire sign, which explains the stereotype that people born under this sign can be hot-headed, chaotic and impulsive. However, while they may seem overly blunt, it’s a sincerity that reflects their need for no-nonsense, and this results in confident and charismatic individuals, and we can’t discredit their playful nature either.

Aries celebrities include Lady Gaga, Lisa from Blackpink and Robert Downey Jr, all of whom are known for their daring fashion choices. Be it through signature accessories or hairstyles, here’s how to enhance your Aries nature through styling.

1. Red hot

Red isn’t just a colour, it’s a feeling. While it may seem particularly trendy right now due to the “pops of red” that can be seen in many a fashion collection (see: Gucci and Ferragamo autum-winter 2024 collections), it perfectly communicates the strength, ferocity and alluring nature of the Aries character too. Keep it subtle with a red lipstick or level up with a some bold pieces such as single accessory or go the full nine yards with a head-to-toe look in red.

2. Experimental eyewear

Glasses make an excellent accessory for the bold, always-authentic Aries. For starters, it can prevent people from seeing how hard you’re rolling your eyes when someone is being less than authentic around you. Jokes aside, it also adds an element of mystery, and the unbothered Aries can get away with the following: an oversized pair of frames, uncommon shapes and extra embellishments.

3. Striking silhouettes

For that unabashedly Aries touch, opt for pronounced silhouettes. Cinched waists should be extra-snatched, oversized pieces should feel exaggeratedly maximised and relaxed styles should really hang loose. Whatever you choose, the overall effect should come across as self-assured and comfortable—like that of Peter Do’s precise tailoring.
