Buh-bye, flower crowns. This year’s Coachella fashion was definitely more luxury than festival, at least on stage, with artists rocking custom looks and stunning ensembles that enhanced their performance and stage presence. 

With performance outfits, designers have to take into consideration factors they may not have to for the runway. For example, how well can its wearer move and dance in it? What details will complement the choreography? Will the outfit read as well from the front row as it will all the way in the back and also on the big screen?

At the second weekend of the California-based festival, artists such as Blackpink and Rosalía—and even Zendaya who made a surprise appearance—graced the stage in a variety of spectacular looks. While plenty were custom-made by well-established fashion houses, there were also archival vintage pieces on display, and here are our picks of the most stylish looks on the Coachella stage in 2023.
