The actress, who’s set to appear in ‘Dune: Part Two’, has been appointed the Italian maison’s latest beauty ambassador

Florence Pugh is the new brand ambassador for Valentino Beauty. The British actress and the Italian maison announced the collaboration on May 21 on Instagram, both sharing a reel in which the the 27-year-old star showcases a number of versatile looks: from full glam with bold pink lips that pop against a romantic peach gown to a sophisticated neutral look that complements an all-white ensemble.

Previous ambassadors for Valentino Beauty include Lady Gaga and Adut Akech, who were selected for their ability to use their “individual platform for purpose”, according to the Valentino Beauty website.

Pugh had officially joined the luxury brand as its fashion ambassador in April this year, and her collaboration with Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccoli predates even that, which has resulted in so many stunning—and often risk-taking—looks on the red carpet. For example, in 2022 alone Pugh defied social expectations and rocked a pink gown to the Valentino Couture show in July that was completely sheer from the waist up, and then sparkled in a black and silver starry number for the premiere of Don’t Worry Darling at the Venice Film Festival in September. In 2023, she attended the Academy Awards in March wearing black shorts under an open gown in a silvery grey that featured puffy off-the-shoulder sleeves and a sweeping cape; and she also graced the Met Gala earlier this month in a custom ensemble, which included a regal headpiece atop her newly shaved head.

This latest collaboration is a reflection of the values and spirit that Pugh and the maison share: “Known for her edgy spirit, emotional range and ability to both surprise and inspire, Florence will help spread the Valentino Beauty philosophy, inviting everyone to express what makes them extraordinary,” reads the brand’s post on Instagram, while Pugh’s says that “Valentino Beauty and I joined forces and I couldn’t be prouder”.
