Alice Chang, founder and CEO, Perfect Corp (Taiwan)
Technology powers beauty at Alice Chang’s Perfect Corp. Leveraging advancements in artificial intelligence and augmented reality, the tech solutions provider has pioneered a number of skin, makeup and face technologies, which have been used by brands such as Estée Lauder, MAC and Tarte. Skincare AR, for example, uses deep learning technology to provide real-time assessment of wrinkles, spots and texture, which then helps evaluate the effectiveness of skincare routines. Meanwhile, Face AI provides accurate facial mapping for realistic makeovers with actual beauty products.
For Estée Lauder, Chang’s YouCam technology, which has been installed in over 8,000 of the beauty company’s devices, has helped customers try on different lipstick shades in seconds. Perfect Corp’s collection of YouCam apps for makeup, nails and selfies is also available for download so beauty lovers can try various looks and styles on their mobile phones. The popular apps have over a billion downloads.
