Introducing: Tatler GMT

I don’t know about you, but I think about time a lot. (My closest friends all just burst into uncontrollable laughter ... let’s not go there.) Not necessarily about time itself, but about timing. For instance, how there is a time and place for everything, or how we shouldn’t let time pass on by. And for us at Tatler Asia, now is the right time to launch Tatler GMT, our new dedicated watch platform that engages with our community by celebrating the finest in horology.

Truly, it seems that new ventures are all about timing. From the collaboration between renowned scientist Dennis Lo and Danny Yeung, co-founder of Prenetics and an Asia’s Most Influential honouree, to launch Insighta, an early cancer detection testing company, to watch collector Noel Wong, who had pivoted from journalism to luxury timepieces—there really is a time and place for everything.

Other newsletter highlights this week:

Don’t let the little moments pass you by, Tatler readers, and have the time of your life. And, as always, happy Friday!

The Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date is only a year old and its success has been such that there almost aren’t enough to go around. We say “almost” because a new collaborative limited edition of 23 pieces was unveiled recently at the Fine Watch Club in Geneva.

First released during Watches and Wonders 2022, the Iced Sea marked the first diving watch for the maison, and it is certified by Montblanc’s Laboratory 500-Hour Test. Now, 23 pieces are up for grabs on a first-come, first-served basis and only for Tatler readers.

If a phoenix and an NFT had a baby, this would be it

Phoenixes of Tomorrow, Tatler Gen.T’s first NFT collection, was designed by Singaporean artist and 2022 Gen.T honouree Dawn Ang, also known as Aeropalmics

Earlier this year, the Gen.T team decided to create an NFT collection that represents the young leaders on the Tatler Gen.T List and the one thing that drives all of them: purpose.

So what would be the most fitting main character for our first-ever NFT? A phoenix. The mythical bird embodies the fire, spirit and purpose of those with the potential to ignite new possibilities.
