Tatler Ball has long been one of Hong Kong’s most exclusive black-tie soirées, kicking off gala season and bringing together the city’s most notable figures. This year, the highly anticipated Tatler Ball makes its way to The Londoner Macao and will see the launch of Tatler’s annual Asia’s Most Influential list that honours the people driving change in Asia and beyond
The Tatler Ball is back. On November 24, Tatler VIPs will head to The Londoner Macao for an unforgettable evening of grandeur and celebration. The Tatler Ball at the Londoner Macao promises to bring together Hong Kong’s most influential figures, cultural luminaries and industry leaders, creating an atmosphere that truly embodies the essence of Asia.
At Tatler, it is our mission to celebrate the very best that Asia has to offer. The ball, our most prestigious annual event, serves as a platform to honour the individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to Hong Kong and beyond. This year’s theme is Shades of the Extraordinary, masterminded by Hugo Belloy, Surprise Surprise’s founder, who was brought on board to head the creative direction of this year’s ball.
“I like to create surprises,” says Belloy. “The theme this year is Shades of the Extraordinary. For me, a theme evokes what you want to create. It needs to be mysterious,” he says.

To Belloy, “shades” signifies the idea that each individual, performer and element involved have unique qualities that come together to create a rich and vibrant tapestry for the Tatler Ball, resulting in a multi-faceted and visually captivating experience.
“We are all shades,” Belloy says. “The Tatler community is a shade. The talents that are going to be performing on stage are a shade. The colours, the design, the aesthetic of the environment are different shades. The Shades of the Extraordinary is a perfect embodiment of what the Tatler Ball is. This year, we are bringing very unique dances and musical performances [to the ball]. The talents that are curated this year are coming from [various parts] of Asia and are doing performances that you may not see everyday.”
This year also marks Tatler’s first-ever region-wide ball, with 300 prominent Hongkongers—many of whom were recently honoured on the Tatler Asia’s Most Influential 2023 list—and VIPs and A-list talent from across Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and Taiwan, who will walk the red carpet and celebrate the occasion.
