The new album, Voyage, will be released on November 5, the band announced during the launch event of the first two songs on the album this week. The songs are already out for the world to listen to on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music and more.

The songs, I Still Have Faith In You and Don't Shut Me Down are the first two in a series of 10 songs that will eventually be released as an album. One song, Little Things, will also be a Christmas song.

“First, it was just two songs,” songwriter Benny Andersson said in a video message that was pre-recorded. “Then we said ‘Maybe we should do, I don’t know, a few others. What do you say girls?’ And they said ‘Yeah’ and then I asked ‘Why don’t we do a full album?’”

Co-songwriter Bjorn Ulvaeus added that recording the songs went very smoothly and that “it all came rushing back in a matter of seconds.”

Above Don’t Shut Me Down

The release of the highly-anticipated album will be followed by a series of concerts that will be held at a purpose-built Abba Arena in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in May 2022.

The concerts are set to feature digital versions of the four members of the group, Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

These digital avatars are called Abbatars and were created using motion capture technology. They will also be showing the members of the band as they looked in 1979 much to the delight of fans who have followed the band since its beginnings in the early 1970s.

The concerts are set to feature 22 songs in total including two new songs and some of their greatest hits.

All we know is that we are fired up and ready to chant: Gimme Gimme Gimme.
