A family’s characterful troupe of collectible figures brings a dash of fun to the glamorous interiors of their stylish Singapore sanctuary
In the realm of interior design, achieving a perfect balance of shapes, proportions, textures and colours is what every design practitioner aims to achieve. For a family with a sizeable array of collectible figurines, the challenge was how these fun additions were to be displayed tastefully within the interior of their 6,600 sq ft detached house in Singapore.
The homeowners sought out local practice Prestige Global Designs to give their three-storey abode a complete makeover; the clients were won over by the meticulous details of the firm’s portfolio which they perused on social media and on the pages of the Tatler Homes Singapore magazine. Led by directors Michael Ong and Jeremy Tay, the firm is known for deftly putting together beautiful interiors that represent each client’s unique brief and needs.
“The family of three wanted a modern luxurious interior, and have a diverse collection of toys and figurines to be displayed in the home,” reveals Tay. “The figurines from our clients’ collection include designs by Kaws, Bearbrick, Molly, Mighty Jaxx, and Qeeboo, just to name a few.”

The five-bedroom property sits on a 4,400 sq ft site and is divided into two pool-facing wings that lead to the living room and dining area respectively. A walkway connects to these two primary social spaces in the home, as well as a serene, blue-tiled swimming pool. Full-height glass sliding doors let in ample daylight, creating sunkissed spaces that the design team was to furnish in style.
“Our design concept is about creating an interior that is modern and luxurious, with a touch of uniqueness through elements that represent clients’ personalities,” explains Tay. “The interior design features a neutral colour scheme and a luxurious aesthetic without excessive ostentation. There is already a sense of spaciousness and abundant natural light, so our task is to improve the original interior with furniture and décor.”
The home’s predominantly neutral palette is elevated through the use of pops of colour, as seen on accent pieces and the collectible toys on display. These are paired with a tasteful mix of materials that includes Florim Stone’s marble-effect porcelain tiles sourced from Italy, as well as the use of various natural stone varieties, leathers, wood veneers and metals.
