Inspired by the traditional Korean house, hanok, ENDO has created a serene home with a spectacular view filled with crafted details
A serene and beautifully crafted home is balm to the soul, and ENDO's (Effendy Nadzri Design Office) modern Asian-inspired home for a family of four, a cat, and two rabbits is a soothing haven in The View, Serai Saujana, in Shah Alam.
As the name of the development implies, the apartment has a beautiful and unobstructed view of Saujana Golf Club. The client (who found the designer through Instagram) asked for an intimate, calm home with Asian sensibilities celebrating their roots.
They are also avid collectors of oriental furniture and art pieces and wished to have their prized pieces displayed throughout the house.

Since the patriarch is a Korean, the designers looked to the traditional Korean house, hanok, for inspiration.
"A traditional Hanok house uses elements such as solid timber slab, timber veneer, lantern and lattice door in their homes. We took the challenge to incorporate these elements, balancing tradition and modernity by adding clean lines and geometry, warm lighting, and a consistent natural palette and schemes which are visible throughout the house," explains Effendy Nadzri, founder and design director of ENDO.
