According to a recent Lenovo study, chief information officers globally are twice as likely to invest in innovation in areas such as AI and machine learning over optimising existing tech solutions

For companies to stay ahead in the fast-evolving business landscape, they have to continuously seek ways to improve operational efficiency and productivity.

According to a survey by Lenovo polling chief information officers (CIOs) globally, the executives ranked investing in innovation in new technologies as more important than optimising existing tech solutions regardless of the economic conditions. Other top priorities for CIOs who want to fuel their innovation ambitions include mastering artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

AI is driving a new wave of business opportunities worldwide, but many companies face implementation challenges due to resource limitations and infrastructure complexities, which leads to delays in its rollout.

Helping companies in this area, Lenovo has invested heavily in AI technology to provide companies with tailored solutions in areas such as computer vision, audio recognition, security and virtual assistants for a wide range of industries including retail and manufacturing.

One example is Lenovo teaming up with Nvidia and DeepBrain AI to offer cost-effective, round-the-clock virtual assistants to reduce the strain on human customer service providers. For businesses, this addresses the issues of labour shortage and long wait times for customers.

To boost the productivity and resilience of the digital workforce in the growth and innovation sectors, Lenovo offers Digital Workplace Solutions that include 5G-ready laptops. The company reportedly has the largest product portfolio of 5G-enabled eSIM laptops.

5G is not just faster than 4G, it is a new way of connecting devices and services that were impossible before. The next-generation networks will make the flow of work faster, smoother and better for everything from phones and cars to factories and cities.

This means a faster and more secure connection to the cloud for the workforce. Users can access high-bandwidth applications such as video conferencing, streaming or online learning without compromising performance or battery life.

Users can connect to 5G networks without a physical SIM, allowing for a faster and smoother internet experience. In the current hybrid work environment, Lenovo’s Digital Workplace Solutions and 5G PCs can help enterprises improve their productivity, security and employee experience.
