Happening in Singapore from October 13 to 15, the three-day sustainability festival is fostering sustainable and conscious living through music, art, talks and games

The annual Conscious Festival by Green is the New Black is back on October 13 to 15 for its seventh edition—and a new gamification experience.

Event attendees can earn real trees, which will be protected on their behalf, as they explore and interact with different activities at the festival. The more they engage with them, the more trees they can earn to build their own forest. The trees can be used to unlock rewards and win prizes.

The Conscious Festival will feature a marketplace with more than 50 conscious brands, such as Sustenir, Seven Clean Seas, Retykle and Bettr. There will also be expert talks and workshops on topics like circular creativity and the role of AI in the race to sustainability, as well as interactive art, games, music, food and wellness activities.

On October 13, the Conscious Leaders Boot Camp will bring together leaders and innovators to discuss more deeply the issues and solutions required to build a sustainable future. Speakers attending include Mercedes-Benz Singapore president and CEO Claudius Steinhoff and City Developments Limited’s chief sustainability officer Esther An.

“There is so much to celebrate and be excited about. This is why our new tagline ‘a festival for our future nature’ was chosen,” says Green Is The New Black founder, Stephanie Dickson

This year’s festival takes place at South Beach. The venue features a wave-like microclimatic canopy fitted with photovoltaic cells to convert solar energy into electricity. The canopy also serves as a ventilated shelter for pedestrians in the city’s tropical heat. The building’s design has won two Green Mark Platinum awards.
